(“Latviešu tautasdziesmu svīta ērģelēm”)
I “The Sun Sets in the Evening” (Noriet saule vakarā)
II “Flowers Bloomed in Everyone’s Garden” (Visiem rozes dārzā zied)
III “I Walked Through the Silver Birch Grove” (Caur sidraba birzi gāju)
This concert will mark the 35th anniversary of the peaceful demonstration in the Baltic countries “The Chain of Freedom” in 1989 or “The Baltic Way”, in which up to 2 million people stood hand in hand, for freedom in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The concert is being organized in collaboration with the Latvian, Estonian and Lithuanian embassies in Copenhagen, Denmark.

My childhood memories of Manitoba’s both peaceful and windswept prairies inspired
this composition, which includes an old “Līgo” song melody that my parents and friends
often sang on Midsummer’s Eve. “The Prairie’s Voice” is dedicated to pianist Rudolf Ozolins.

Jaunais mēness (“New Moon”) from the piano cycle “Pastorāles” performed by pianist Dzintra Erliha on her solo recital concert program “The Stars and the Earth” at the Salle Cortot in Paris, France at 20:00. The concert, dedicated to the memory of Latvian composer Lūcija Garūta (1902-1977), will celebrate the release of Dzintra Erliha’s album “Serena” (PROMO CLASSICS). The album will include Dace Aperāne’s complete piano cycle “Pastorales”, dedicated to Ms. Erliha.
